Tinubu condoles Jimi, Segun Agbaje over their mother’s death

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent his condolences to Jimi and Segun Agbaje, as well as the entire Agbaje family, on the death of their mother, Margaret Olabisi Agbaje, a revered educator and community leader.
Mrs. Agbaje, who peacefully passed away on March 5.
She was a trailblazer in the education sector and a pillar of the Catholic community in Nigeria.
Mrs Agbaje served as a mathematics teacher at Holy Child College, Lagos (1953–1959), a tutor at St. Joseph’s Teacher Training College, Surulere (1960–1971), and later as Headmistress of St. Catherine’s Model School, Surulere (1971–1982).
President Tinubu in a statement issued on Sunday by Bayo Onanuga, his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, praise her lifelong dedication to teaching and nation-building, describing her as “a beacon of learning, discipline, and kindness”.
He also noted that her greatest fulfillment came from the success of her students, many of whom went on to excel in various fields.
“Mama Agbaje’s life was a testament to kindness, humility, and unwavering dedication to education. To her students, her greatest fulfilment was seeing their triumphs,” the President remarked.
Mama Agbaje apart from her contributions to education, was deeply committed to her faith, serving as President of the Catholic Women Organisation (CWO), Lagos Ecclesiastical Province, and holding key leadership roles in the church.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu further encouraged the Agbaje family and all those mourning her loss to take solace in her enduring legacy.
“May her goodness be a lasting memory to all whose lives she enriched,” he said, offering prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul.
