₦25.9m Vote-Buying Plot Foiled in Kaduna state
A major vote-buying scheme was busted in Kaduna State as security operatives arrested one Shehu Aliyu Patangi with a staggering ₦25.9 million in cash. The money was allegedly set aside to bribe voters in the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency election.
Patangi was nabbed around 3:30am on Saturday at a popular hotel along Turunku Road in Kaduna metropolis. The arrest was carried out in a joint operation involving the Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies.
Authorities say the arrest underscores their resolve to tackle electoral malpractice and ensure a free, fair, and credible process in the state.
