1,000 Women to Benefit from New Health Insurance Initiative

In an effort to enhance healthcare access for women, the Aleeta Foundation and GoWellness have introduced a Free Basic Health Insurance Initiative aimed at assisting 1,000 beneficiaries by the end of 2025.

Leading this initiative is wellness advocate and GoWellness CEO Dr. Gloria Praise, who emphasizes the importance of providing free maternity care—including prenatal, delivery, and postpartum services—alongside comprehensive wellness support for women in underserved communities.

“Our mission is straightforward: to make wellness both accessible and affordable for all women. Health encompasses more than just medical facilities—it also involves prevention, balance, and care that addresses all aspects of life,” Dr. Praise stated.

GoWellness operates centers in Abuja and Port Harcourt, offering alternative therapies such as fitness programs, aromatherapy, and wellness education to fill the gaps in traditional medical care.

The initiative launched in April, initially enrolling 250 women across Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt, with plans to include more states as the program develops over the year.

Funded by Dr. Praise herself, this initiative underscores a private-sector-led approach to community health. The partners are calling on corporate sponsors, development partners, and private individuals to support the program’s expansion.
