14-Year-Old Girl Stages Her Own Kidnapping, Orchestrates Abduction of 4-Year-Old Sister in Katsina
In a shocking turn of events, the Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 14-year-old girl who allegedly staged her own kidnapping and masterminded the abduction of her 4-year-old sister in a calculated scheme to extort ₦50 million from their father.
The arrest was confirmed by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, during a press briefing at the Katsina Police Headquarters on Thursday.
Sadiq disclosed that police operatives not only rescued the 4-year-old girl unharmed but also apprehended four members of the syndicate involved in the crime. He further revealed that one live round of AK-47 ammunition was recovered during the operation.
According to the police, the case was initially reported on February 20, 2025, when Alhaji Badamasi Bala of Madaci Yan Nono Quarters lodged a complaint about the disappearance of his two daughters and a ₦50 million ransom demand from suspected kidnappers.
Sadiq said: “About four months after the kidnapping, the eldest daughter resurfaced. When questioned, she confessed to having conspired with three others to kidnap her 4-year-old sister and faked her own abduction.”
He noted that the girl’s confession led to the swift arrest of the other three suspects, aged 25, 19 and 16. All have admitted to participating in the crime.
“They all confessed to committing the offence,” Sadiq said.

This incident adds to the growing concern over juvenile involvement in organized crimes and highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to dismantle such criminal networks.
