17-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Kano Village Pond

A 17-year-old boy, Lurwanu Suleiman, has tragically drowned in a pond in Dandalama village, located in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.

The Kano State Fire Service confirmed the incident in a statement released on Wednesday by its Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi. According to the statement, the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

“We received a distress call from Malam Aminu Dandalama at about 12:54 p.m. on Tuesday, and our rescue team arrived at the scene by 1:25 p.m.,” Abdullahi stated.

Sadly, Suleiman was recovered from the water without signs of life. His body was handed over to the Ward Head of Dandalama village, Alhaji Safiyan Usman.

The cause of the drowning is still being investigated, the agency added.
