A 19-year-old aspiring Nigerian artiste, identified simply as Destiny, has tragically lost his life after being brutally assaulted in Ghana’s Volta Region.
According to information obtained by FCNN, the incident occurred on May 28. Destiny, who had traveled to Ghana to pursue his education, was reportedly attacked by a fellow Nigerian living in the country, along with two accomplices.
The individuals allegedly accused Destiny of mismanaging or withholding funds related to a business venture they had introduced him to.
Sources revealed that the man behind the accusation was also responsible for helping Destiny relocate to Ghana and had arranged accommodation for him. On the day of the incident, the three men confronted Destiny at his apartment. When he was unable to explain the alleged financial discrepancies, they launched a violent assault on him.
A source familiar with the matter, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, confirmed that Destiny — originally from Edo State — succumbed to the injuries inflicted during the attack.
“Destiny moved to Ghana for his studies with support from someone he referred to as his ‘street brother,’” the source said. “They accused him of diverting money meant for a business they introduced him to. In a fit of rage, they beat him severely in his apartment. He became too weak and died from the injuries.”
It was also reported that the attackers left Destiny’s lifeless body in the apartment after realizing he was unresponsive. A few days later, Ghanaian police were alerted and subsequently discovered his remains.
Another source who spoke with FCNN stated, “The police found his body after being informed about the incident, but as of now, no arrests have been made. We’re hoping the authorities in Ghana will find the culprits and ensure they face justice.”
In a video shared prior to his death, Destiny introduced himself with hope and ambition:
“I am Destiny, and I am a streamer from Nigeria. I want to apply to Streamers University. This would bring great joy to me, my mother, and everyone around me. I’m also an artiste and a gamer. I do all sorts of things.”
His untimely death has left many devastated, with calls growing for justice and accountability.
