Nigerian comedian Dr. Laff Ijuo Albert has made history by completing a 50-hour stand-up comedy marathon, surpassing the previous Guinness World Record of 40 hours and 8 minutes.

Dr. Laff, a native of Benue State, embarked on this challenge to not only etch his name in the record books but also to inspire young Nigerians in the entertainment industry. His effort also served as a fundraising initiative for his “Talent City Naija” project, aimed at supporting young creatives in the country.

“I wanted to push my limits and show the world that Nigerian comedians can set the pace globally,” Dr. Laff stated after completing the marathon. “This was not just about comedy; it was about resilience, consistency and the power of entertainment.”

Throughout the marathon, Dr. Laff delivered a seamless flow of jokes, skits and engaging monologues while adhering to the strict guidelines set by Guinness World Records. He was cheered on by fans, fellow comedians and celebrities who visited the venue to show support.

“This is a monumental achievement for Nigeria’s comedy industry,” said popular comedian Ali Baba, who was present during the final hours of the performance. “Dr. Laff has set a new benchmark for endurance in stand-up comedy.”
