
Owa Obokun Celebrates Alaafin’s Coronation
The Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, has congratulated the new Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, on his ascension to the throne as the 46th Alaafin.
In a goodwill message titled “In togetherness we are one,” Oba Haastrup hailed the new monarch’s historic rise to the revered royal position and wished him a long, peaceful reign.
The Ijesaland monarch noted he was unable to attend the coronation due to his ongoing mandatory 90-day seclusion (Ipebi).

He reflected on the historic bond between the thrones of Owa Obokun and Alaafin, saying:
“It is gratifying to note that our forefathers succeeded in sustaining this great legacy of kinship, brotherliness and brotherhood.”
Oba Haastrup also prayed for divine wisdom for Oba Owoade to offer purposeful leadership to the Oyo people and the entire Yoruba race.
