Lawmaker Praises Tunibu For Transforming Lafiya University Hospital Into Federal Medical Center .

Federal lawmaker Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the takeover and conversion of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia into the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital.
Nalaraba, representing the Awe/Doma/Keana federal constituency of Nasarawa State, described the approval as a significant advancement for both the healthcare and educational sectors of the state. He remarked, “Transforming Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital into a Federal Teaching Hospital will provide a critical platform for training students in medical and allied sciences while enhancing the quality of healthcare delivery to our community.”
He also acknowledged Governor Abdullahi Sule for his proactive efforts in advocating for the hospital’s conversion, emphasizing the substantial benefits it will bring to Nasarawa State. Additionally, he praised former Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, for initiating the bill that led to the establishment of the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital. Nalaraba highlighted that the idea for this bill was proposed by the former governor in 2021 and successfully navigated the legislative process in both the Nigerian Senate and House of Representatives.
Nalaraba further noted that before leaving office in May 2019, Al-Makura donated a completed building for the hospital’s launch along Rice Mill/B.A.D road in Lafia. He commended Senator Al-Makura for his visionary leadership and commitment to the future of Nasarawa State.
The lawmaker also expressed his gratitude to the Emir of Lafia, His Royal Highness Justice Sidi Bage (retired), and the Minister of Health, Ali Pate, for their contributions to realizing this initiative.
