Beloved Bollywood Actor Manoj Kumar Passes Away at 87

Renowned veteran Bollywood actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar has died at the age of 87 in Mumbai.
India’s financial hub. Dr. Santosh Shetty from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital confirmed that Kumar succumbed to age-related health issues.
His son, Kunal Goswami, informed ANI that the actor had been battling health challenges for an extended period.
Manoj Kumar, born Harikrishan Goswami in Punjab in 1937, gained prominence during the 1960s and 1970s through a series of impactful patriotic films.
He is best remembered for iconic works such as *Shaheed*, *Roti Kapada Aur Makaan*, and *Kranti*, which resonated deeply with audiences across India.
Kumar’s films, known for their strong patriotic themes, earned him numerous accolades, including the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian honor, and the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honor in Indian cinema.

In the wake of his passing, tributes have flooded social media.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated his legacy on X (formerly Twitter), recognizing him as “an icon of Indian cinema” whose films “ignited a spirit of national pride.”
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit also expressed his condolences, describing Kumar’s death as “a great loss to the industry” and emphasizing that “the entire industry will miss him.”
