In a bold political move that’s sending shockwaves through Nigeria’s political landscape, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the appointment of former Senate President, Senator David Mark, as its Interim National Chairman, and ex-Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, as Interim National Secretary.

The dramatic appointments were confirmed during a strategic meeting of top opposition leaders in Abuja on Tuesday night, signaling the ADC’s renewed aggression ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Reacting to the development, Ogun State ADC Chairman, Femi Soluade, described the leadership shake-up as a game-changer, asserting that it sets the stage for the eventual removal of President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from power.

In a press release issued on Wednesday by the party’s Ogun State Publicity Secretary, Olumide Onabajo, Soluade declared that the duo of Mark and Aregbesola bring unmatched political firepower, experience, and a shared commitment to democratic reform that will reshape Nigeria’s political future.

“This powerful combination is not just symbolic it’s strategic,” Soluade emphasized. “We are fully mobilized in Ogun to take over Oke Mosan come 2027. The people of this state are hungry for real change, and under this dynamic leadership, we will deliver it.”

He urged all ADC members, loyalists, and the broader opposition community to rally around the new leadership and intensify grassroots efforts to reclaim power at both state and national levels.
