Adeboye reveals how he expects to die

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has shared how he believes his final moments will unfold.

Speaking during the evening session of Day 4 at the church’s 73rd Annual Convention, themed “The Overcomers”, Adeboye said his passing will occur on a Sunday—after a joyful day in church.

“It’s going to be on a Sunday. I will go to church for service, dance very well, and return home. I will eat pounded yam, then I will go,” he told worshippers at the Old Auditorium in Redemption City, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The revered cleric, who gave no date, urged members not to question how he knew, explaining that illness is not the only path to death. His message came while leading prayers on divine healing.

Other prayer points during the session focused on prosperity, fruitfulness, long life, and victory over the forces of darkness.

Citing 2 Corinthians 8:9, Adeboye affirmed that prosperity is part of God’s plan for believers and urged the congregation to reject poverty, describing it as a tool the devil uses to hinder the gospel’s spread.
