Ado Poly Part-Time Students Storm Streets, Demand NYSC Inclusion
#HappeningNow – Part-time students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, have taken to the streets in protest, decrying their exclusion from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme. The aggrieved students, carrying placards and chanting solidarity songs, are demanding that the institution and relevant authorities regularize their admission status to enable them participate in the mandatory national service.
The protesters insist that despite paying the same fees and undergoing similar academic rigors as their full-time counterparts, they are unfairly sidelined from the NYSC program. They have called on the Federal Government, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), and the NYSC to urgently intervene in the matter to prevent what they describe as discrimination and denial of their rights.
