A helicopter crashed in a remote area of Uttarakhand, India, killing all seven people on board early Sunday morning. The victims included five adult passengers, one infant, and the pilot, according to Indian media reports.
The incident occurred at around 5:30 am on Sunday, June 15, 2025. The crash took place in a remote mountainous region of Uttarakhand, a northern Indian state known for its difficult terrain and frequent aviation use for pilgrimages and transportation in inaccessible areas.
The cause of the crash is yet to be officially determined. Preliminary reports suggest the helicopter may have encountered technical difficulties or adverse weather conditions, but an investigation has been launched to establish the exact reason.
The helicopter reportedly lost contact with ground control shortly after takeoff. Rescue teams were dispatched immediately and located the wreckage in a forested, hilly zone. Sadly, no survivors were found at the site.
Authorities have sealed off the crash site, and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has initiated a detailed probe into the incident. The identities of the victims are being verified, and next of kin are being notified.
Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
