
A peace meeting between local authorities and armed groups operating in the forested areas of Bakori Local Government Area took place on Sunday, led by the Council Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Barde.
Held in Bakori town, the dialogue sought to foster mutual understanding and resolve ongoing tensions between herders and local communities.
Hon. Barde underscored the value of dialogue as a tool for achieving lasting peace, stressing that true security and sustainable development can only exist in a stable and cooperative environment.
He reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote unity and calm, urging Fulani leaders to maintain collaboration with security operatives and community stakeholders.
The session was attended by traditional rulers, community representatives, and members of various security agencies, all pledging to work together for the continued peace of the area.
