Court Asks Mother And Daughter To Be Taught Quranic Lessons For Calling Neighbour Prostitute

A Kano Shari’a Court sitting in Kurna Quarters in Dala Local Government Area of the state has asked that a mother and her daughter be kept at a health facility located at Kansakali, where they should be taught qur’anic lessons for calling their neighbour a prostitute.

Zainab Ibrahim and her daughter, Rukayya Nazir, were arraigned by police in Kano before the court over alleged defamation of character lodged by one Sadiya Nasir against the duo for allegedly addressing her as a harlot.

After reading the charge, both mother and daughter pleaded guilty and Shamsuddeen Ado Abdullahi, the Khadi, ordered that the defendant be kept at a health facility located at Kansakali, where they should be taught Qur’anic lessons.

They were also asked to go and withdraw their statements before a goup of neighbours in the community.
