APC’s Chukwuma Questions Security Vote Amid Rising Insecurity in Anambra

Sir Paul Chukwuma, a governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, has raised concerns over the persistent insecurity in the state, questioning the purpose of security votes amidst the wave of killings and kidnappings.

Speaking with journalists on Saturday, Chukwuma expressed alarm over the deteriorating security situation, which he said has robbed Anambra residents of their freedom.

“Incessant killings and kidnappings have reached an alarming proportion, making people wonder if it’s a ploy to silence opposition ahead of the 2025 governorship election,” Chukwuma stated.

Recent incidents include the kidnapping of Hon. Justice Azuka, a member of the House of Assembly representing Onitsha North 1, on Christmas Eve while traveling for the holidays. Similarly, Retired Anglican Archbishop Most Rev. Dr. Godwin Okpala remains missing, and Catholic Priest Rev. Fr. Tobias Okonkwo was tragically killed on Boxing Day by unidentified gunmen.
