Bandits Invade Female Lodge, Allegedly Rape 30 Students at Federal University Nasarawa
Panic and outrage have gripped the community of Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, following a brutal overnight attack by suspected bandits on a female students’ lodge.
According to eyewitness reports, over 30 female students were allegedly raped, while several others sustained injuries during the horrific assault. The armed assailants reportedly stormed the hostel in the dead of night, unleashing chaos and violence that lasted for hours without immediate intervention.
Some students managed to escape into nearby bushes, while others were left traumatized and hospitalized. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, with calls for urgent action from both security agencies and university authorities.
Parents, students, and rights activists are demanding justice and increased security around off-campus student accommodations, which have become increasingly vulnerable to such attacks.
