Bayelsa Police launch manhunt after Yahoo Boy lover found dead in Hotel

The Bayelsa State Police Command has begun a search for a suspected internet fraudster, popularly known as a “Yahoo boy,” after a young woman was found dead in a hotel in the Igbogene area of Yenagoa, the state capital.

According to sources, the incident occurred on Saturday when the unidentified woman checked into the hotel with the young man, who later fled the premises.

Shortly after the man’s departure, the hotel manager discovered the woman’s lifeless body and reported the case to the Igbogene Divisional Police Headquarters.

A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “The girl lodged in the hotel with the suspected Yahoo boy, but he left soon after.

Her body was later found by the hotel staff, throwing the area into confusion.”

The Bayelsa State police command Public Relations Officer, Musa Muhammad, confirmed the incident on Sunday, stating that investigations are ongoing.

“We received the report on Saturday. No arrests have been made yet, but we are actively investigating the case.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death,” Muhammad said.
