Benue Flags Off Construction of International Cargo Airport in Gboko
The Benue State Government has officially commenced the construction of the Benue State International Cargo Airport, Gboko, a major infrastructure project aimed at boosting economic activity and improving air freight services in the region.
Located along the Lessel–Vandeikya Road, the airport is expected to serve as a critical hub for agricultural export, industrial goods transportation, and international cargo operations.
Governor Hyacinth Alia, while speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, stated that the airport will not only create jobs but also position Benue as a strategic trade gateway in Nigeria’s North-Central region.
The project signals a new era of development and modernization for the state, with stakeholders optimistic about its long-term impact on local and international commerce.
