Billboard Collapse Injures Passengers, Crushes Tricycles in Abia

A devastating accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Aba, Abia State, when a large advertising billboard collapsed during a heavy downpour with strong winds, crushing multiple tricycles carrying passengers.

The incident happened at the busy Salad Market junction near the GIA Event Centre.

According to eyewitnesses, the billboard fell without warning, trapping the tricycles and their occupants underneath.

Emergency responders and local engineers quickly mobilized to rescue those affected.

While the exact number of casualties has yet to be confirmed, several injured passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Bodies of those feared dead were reportedly taken to the morgue.

Rescue efforts continued into the evening as authorities worked to clear the debris and assess the full extent of the damage.
