Boko Haram Strikes Again in Chibok
Suspected Boko Haram terrorists launched a deadly attack on Bazir village in Chibok Local Government Area, Borno State, killing two civilian brothers.
The attackers also set a church and several residential houses ablaze after looting food crops and livestock. The attack occurred in the early hours of Sunday at about 2:00 am, while residents were asleep.
This marks the second such incident in Chibok within a week. On January 2, Boko Haram militants attacked Njilang village, displacing the entire community, now seeking refuge in safer locations.
Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume (APC Borno South), whose constituency includes Chibok, recently expressed concern over the resurgence of terrorist attacks in Damboa and other parts of Borno State.

A resident of Bazir who escaped unharmed, Mr. James Ayuba, shared his ordeal:
“It was by God’s Grace that we escaped unhurt, but our house was set ablaze completely after the terrorists looted our agricultural produce.
“I am calling on the government and security agencies to take urgent action to address the renewed attacks in Southern Borno. Our people, especially those in Chibok, deserve to live in peace and safety, and it is the responsibility of the authorities to ensure that they are protected and secured.”
Efforts to confirm the incident with the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Kenneth Daso, were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
