Bolt Driver Fatally Shot in Bayelsa, Police Launch Investigation

The Bayelsa State Police Command has opened an investigation into the killing of a Bolt driver, whose body was found at Samphino Junction in the Kpansia area of Yenagoa, the state capital.
FCNN learnt that the driver’s lifeless body was discovered inside his vehicle by passersby on Friday morning. Police were alerted and quickly cordoned off the scene.
This incident occurred less than a week after the murder of 27-year-old Federal University Otuoke graduate, Daniel Ayama, which took place less than a kilometre from the latest crime scene.
Preliminary reports suggest the Bolt driver was shot at close range in what appears to be a targeted killing. Investigators say no belongings were taken from the vehicle, reinforcing suspicions of an assassination.
State police spokesperson, Musa Mohammed, confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway.
“We are gathering all available intelligence. Forensic teams have been deployed, and we are working with the Bolt company to access trip data that could help identify the suspects,” he said.
