President Tinubu seeks senate approval to borrow 2.2 billion Dollars

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) to the House of Representatives for consideration and approval.

FCNN gathered that the, President has also requested the approval of both the Senate and the House of Representatives for an external borrowing plan amounting to $2.2 billion for the financing critical projects and addressing fiscal challenges the nation is facing.

The President further urged the lawmakers to confirm three nominees to serve as Commissioners for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This move is essential for ensuring the effective functioning of INEC, especially in the context of upcoming elections and the overall electoral process in the country.

The president’s actions reflect the administration’s ongoing efforts to manage the country’s economic strategies and enhance the electoral framework in future elections.
