BREAKING: Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol Prices by N15 Nationwide

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a fresh reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol), cutting prices by N15 per litre across the country.
The new price range now falls between N875 and N905 per litre, depending on the region.
The updated pricing, released Thursday via the refinery’s official social media channels, applies to all partner retail outlets, including major fuel marketers such as MRS, Ardova, Heyden, Optima Energy, Techno Oil, and Hyde Energy.
Previously, petrol sold for N890 in Lagos and as high as N920 in the North East and South-South. Under the new pricing structure, Lagos residents will pay N875, while prices in the North East and South-South drop to N905 per litre.
Other regional rates include: South-West at N885, North-West and Central at N895, and South-East at N905.
Dangote Refinery advised consumers to purchase fuel exclusively from its partner stations and urged the public to report any non-compliant outlets via its dedicated hotlines: +234 707 470 2099 or +234 707 470 2100.
“Our high-quality petrol and diesel are refined for better engine performance and are environmentally friendly,” the company noted in a statement.
The reduction comes in the wake of the refinery’s reinstated refund benefit policy to customers earlier this week.
This move coincides with increased fuel imports by independent oil marketers, with over 496 million litres of petrol brought into Nigeria in just nine days.
According to data from the Tanker Position Report obtained from Blue Sea Maritime, about 370,000 metric tonnes of petrol were discharged at various seaports between May 11 and 20, 2025.
The Lekki-based 650,000 barrels-per-day facility said on Monday that its naira-for-crude initiative has enabled it to reduce petrol costs, directly impacting pump prices.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to keeping petrol prices stable and affordable, despite ongoing volatility in global crude markets.
In a statement signed by its Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, the company emphasized that this price cut underscores Dangote Refinery’s dedication to supporting the Nigerian economy and easing the financial burden on consumers.
