BREAKING: Former UK Envoy and Broadcaster Christopher Kolade Dies at 92

Renowned broadcaster and diplomat, Dr. Christopher Kolade, has passed away at the age of 92.
His family announced his passing in a statement on Thursday, revealing that the respected elder statesman died peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
“We are thankful for his incredible life of faith and service, and are grateful for God’s abundant blessings,” the statement read in part.
Dr. Kolade, a former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and ex-Chairman of Cadbury Nigeria Plc, was celebrated for his integrity, professionalism, and dedication to ethical leadership.
Born on December 28, 1932, in Erin-Oke, Osun State, to an Anglican missionary, Kolade attended Government College, Ibadan, and later graduated from Fourah Bay College, Freetown, Sierra Leone.
He began his illustrious career in broadcasting, rising to become Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation before transitioning to the corporate world as Chief Executive and later Chairman of Cadbury Nigeria Plc.
Kolade’s diplomatic service as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the UK further cemented his reputation as a man of principle and excellence.
In academia, he contributed immensely to leadership and ethics education, teaching Corporate Governance and Human Resource Management at the Lagos Business School, and Leadership and Conflict Management at the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University.
He also served as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council at Pan-Atlantic University, and later as Chancellor of McPherson University, Ogun State.
Dr. Christopher Kolade leaves behind a lasting legacy of integrity, service, and faith.
