A delegation from the United States Congress visited Makurdi on 6 December 2025 for a high-level meeting with religious and traditional leaders in Benue State.
The discussion, held at the Bishop’s Court and hosted by Most Rev. Wilfred Anagbe with the presence of Most Rev. Isaac Dugu and the Tor Tiv, HRM James Iorzua Ayatse, centered on the persistent attacks facing Benue communities.
The leaders shared their concerns and explored potential areas where the international community could assist. They expressed optimism that the visit could strengthen ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in the state.
