A tanker explosion was reported to have occurred in Karamin Rami, Mashegu local government area, killing seven people, injured one and destroyed many farmlands on Saturday.

The tanker was said to have fallen off while trying to manoeuvre its way as a result of the bad condition of the road, spilling it content on the road and in a nearby stream where dry-season farmers were working on their rice fields.
The spilled fuel reportedly cane into contact with a water pump being used by the farmers and ignited a fire that spread back to the tanker and caused the explosion.
The fire extended to the farmlands through the contaminated stream and burnt some farmers and many farmlands, leaving one injured who is currently receiving treatment at a Primary Healthcare Centre within the local government.
