BREAKING: U.S. Ambassador Labels Killings of Nigerian Christians as “Genocide,” Sparks Global Concern

The United States has sharply increased its attention on Nigeria following a bold statement issued on November 18, 2025, by Mike Waltz, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

Speaking at a UN Mission gathering in New York on Tuesday, Waltz characterized the recent attacks on Christians in Nigeria as:

“A genocide disguised as disorder.”

He insisted that the violence unfolding in the country can no longer be dismissed as random unrest  it has become a deliberate and systematic campaign that the international community must urgently confront.

Waltz’s remarks set off swift responses throughout Washington, drawing reactions from lawmakers, human rights groups, and global analysts.
