Buhari commeserates Jigawa governor over loss of mother, son

Former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has showed deep sympathy to Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State over the loss of his mother and son within 24 hours.

Buhari in a heartfelt phone call, described the events as “painful and terrifying,” but urged the governor to find solace in the divine will of Allah, “Who gives and takes away life.”

Mallam Garba Shehu, his spokesman in a statement issued out to newsmen, stated that the former President acknowledged the great impact of the tragedy, adding that “anyone who believes in humanity would be touched by this double tragedy.”

The former president urged Governor Namadi to use this difficult period to strengthen his faith in Allah and recommit himself to serving the people of Jigawa State.

“I convey my heartfelt condolences to the members of your family and the large number of your friends and admirers, and to the government and the entire people of the state,” Buhari said.
