Ogun married woman dies after visiting another man’s apartment

Policemen attached to the Ogun state police command have arrested a 65-year-old man, identified as Olalekan Ogunjobi, has been in connection with the death of a woman found in his apartment.

The deceased woman, identified as Serifatu Disu, was said to have left her husband’s house to visit Ogunjobi at his apartment in Fatima Castle, Konigba, located in the Ago-Iwoye area of the state.

The Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident to newsmen on Thursday, and also stated that the 60-year-old woman complained of chest pain around 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday and collapsed shortly after stepping out of the room. The police disclosed that despite Ogunjobi’s efforts to administer first aid, Disu lost consciousness and passed away shortly after.

The Public Relations Officer for the command, Chief Superintendent of Police, Omolola Odutola, stated that the Divisional Police Officer of Ago-Iwoye was contacted and promptly arrived at the apartment.

“Olalekan Ogunjobi, a 65-year-old resident of Fatimoh Castle, Konigba, Ago-Iwoye, stated that Serifatu Disu, a 60-year-old woman and a friend of his, left her husband’s home to visit him late at night.

“Around 12:40 a.m., she began complaining of chest pain. Shortly after stepping outside, she collapsed and lost consciousness.

“Despite efforts to revive her, they were unsuccessful. The Crime Branch of the Ago-Iwoye Division has launched a preliminary investigation, and Olalekan has been taken into custody for further questioning.

Odutola further stated that the body had been removed and taken to the Ijebu-Ode Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.

“We have visited the scene, and the body has been taken to the General Hospital in Ijebu Ode, where it will be moved to the mortuary for an autopsy. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” Odutola added.
