China Alliance with Nigeria’s Music Industry to Boost Cultural Tourism
Nigeria and China are set to embark on an innovative partnership aimed at enhancing the tourism and creative sectors. This partnership holds great potential for boosting cultural exchange and economic opportunities between the two nations.

During a recent meeting, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, engaged with the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, to discuss collaborative efforts that will foster growth and development in these key areas.

He disclosed that the collaboration between the two countries would cut across tech development, animation, incubation programs for young creatives, and streamlined visa processes for stakeholders in tourism and the creative sectors.
The ambassador also reiterated China’s commitment to strengthening ties with Nigeria in various areas of interest.

Minister Musawa welcomed the partnership proposal, assuring China of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to expanding bilateral ties and economic growth.
She noted that the collaboration will not only boost our economy but also foster cultural exchange and understanding between our nations.
Musawa further disclosed that with the creative sector contributing 4% to Nigeria’s economy and a target of $100 billion in investment, the partnership is expected to yield significant benefits for both nations.
“The ministry will prioritise infrastructural development and will sustain its policy drive towards revamping tourism sites in the country, such as Yankari Game Reserve, Obudu Ranch Resorts, Tinapa, Erin-Ijesha Waterfalls, amongst others, taking a cue from beautiful and scenic tourist sites in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Mexico, and other parts of the world, most of which can be replicated in Nigeria.”
