Fresh Protests Rock Jos Over Ongoing Plateau Killings
Residents of Jos, the capital of Plateau State, staged a massive protest on Monday, April 21, 2025, in response to the ongoing wave of brutal killings allegedly carried out by suspected Fulani militants in the state.
The demonstration, which drew a large crowd, was spearheaded by Christian leaders, including the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Plateau, Rev. Polycarp Lubo. Protesters gathered at Fawvwei Junction community road, bringing traffic to a standstill and leaving many commuters stranded.
This public outcry comes after a recent spike in deadly attacks across Plateau communities, particularly in Bokkos and Bassa Local Government Areas, where over 100 residents have reportedly been killed in the past two weeks.

“We are not happy over the continuous attacks and killings by gunmen in our communities. That’s why we have come out again to protest these happenings,” one of the protesters, Gyang Dalyop, said.
Another protester, Hannatu Philip, appealed to authorities to step in before the violence escalates further.
The demonstrators, holding placards with messages of grief and frustration, marched towards the Rayfield Government House, demanding swift and effective government intervention to halt the bloodshed and restore peace.
