FG Orders Immediate Closure of 41 Federal Unity Schools Over Security Concerns
The Federal Government has directed the immediate closure of 41 Federal Unity Schools across the country following rising security threats in several regions. The decision, comes as part of urgent measures to safeguard the lives of students and staff amid intelligence reports indicating potential attacks on educational institutions.
According to the Ministry of Education, the temporary shutdown is a proactive step to prevent any form of security breach, especially in areas identified as high-risk. School administrators have been instructed to ensure all students are safely evacuated and handed over to their parents or guardians without delay.
Government officials emphasized that the safety of children remains a top priority, assuring the public that security agencies have already been deployed to affected areas to tighten surveillance and neutralize emerging threats.
While the closure is expected to disrupt academic activities, the Federal Government noted that it is a necessary sacrifice to prevent possible tragedies. Authorities also disclosed that the reopening of the schools will depend on security assessments and clearance from relevant agencies.
Parents and stakeholders have been urged to remain calm as efforts are underway to address the security concerns and restore normalcy as quickly as possible.
