CPC: Bandits Attack Faruruwa Community in Kano, Abduct Five Women
Kindly share this story

Tension has gripped the Faruruwa community in Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State after suspected bandits launched a night-time attack on the area, abducting five women, including four nursing mothers.
Residents reported that the armed assailants invaded the community late last night, firing sporadically to instill fear before whisking away their victims. The incident marks one of the most serious security breaches in Kano’s northern corridor in recent months.
The attack comes amid reports that several local government areas in neighbouring Katsina State have entered into peace agreements with bandit groups. Security observers warn that such pacts may be pushing criminal elements into bordering states like Kano.
Analysts and local stakeholders are urging the Kano State Government to act swiftly, coordinating closely with authorities in Katsina to prevent spillover violence.
“The peace deals in Katsina could have unintended consequences for Kano if proactive steps aren’t taken,” one security commentator warned. “Kano must strengthen its frontier security and ensure coordination across state lines.”
As of the time of filing this report, police authorities in Kano had yet to issue an official statement on the incident, and efforts to reach security officials for comment were unsuccessful.
Residents, meanwhile, remain on edge as fears grow over further attacks in the area.
