Nigeria Calls on Citizens in Israel / Iran to Register for Evacuation Amid Bombings
The Federal Government has concluded arrangements to evacuate Nigerian citizens stranded in Israel and Iran, as hostilities between the two Middle Eastern nations continue to escalate.
Ambassador Tuggar reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to protecting its citizens abroad, noting that the evacuation plan is a direct response to the intensifying conflict now entering its seventh day.
This was disclosed on Thursday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, in a statement released by the ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, in Abuja.
Ambassador Tuggar reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to protecting its citizens abroad, noting that the evacuation plan is a direct response to the intensifying conflict now entering its seventh day.
He urged all affected Nigerians to comply with safety measures and promptly contact the nearest Nigerian embassy in Tel Aviv and Tehran for registration and evacuation details.
Meanwhile, the minister commended the efforts of Nigeria’s diplomatic missions in Tel Aviv and Tehran, commending their swift response and ongoing support to Nigerian nationals throughout the crisis.
“The government remains committed to the safety and welfare of all its citizens, both at home and abroad,” Tuggar said.
He stated that the government is actively collaborating with relevant international partners and local authorities to ensure a well-coordinated, timely, and safe evacuation of Nigerians from the affected regions.Travel guides for Nigeria
Similarly, the government renewed its appeal for an immediate end to hostilities, urging all parties to embrace dialogue, uphold international humanitarian law, and prioritise the safety of civilians.
