Cult Clash in Lagos Claims One Life

One person has been killed in a cult conflict involving rival groups in the Owode Ajegunle area of Lagos State.

FCNN learnt that the incident occurred on Monday.

According to report, one of the rival factions was seeking vengeance for the death of one of their members when they encountered another group.

Sources revealed that this confrontation led to the death of the victim, who was identified only as Sparkle.

“The Buccaneer cult was attempting to avenge the death of their comrade when they came across the Aiye cult, to which Sparkle belonged. Insults were exchanged, escalating into a violent clash. During this altercation, Sparkle was shot and died on the spot,” the source explained.

Another community member noted that tensions initially flared when a Buccaneer member was ambushed and fatally shot by Aiye cultists while out with his girlfriend. Although he was quickly transported to the hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

“A Buccaneer was killed in the community about a week earlier while walking with his girlfriend. He was attacked and shot at close range. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the doctors confirmed his death on arrival. This led the Buccaneers to seek revenge, eventually resulting in Sparkle’s death after encountering the Aiye group,” the source stated.

Currently, reports suggest that the Buccaneers are planning a counterattack against the Aiye cult in retaliation for Sparkle’s death, while the Aiye group is also preparing to respond to the Buccaneers to avenge their fallen member. Many residents in the area are living in fear due to the ongoing violence.
