BREAKING: Tinubu to Address Nation on Democracy Day

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will deliver a national broadcast at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, as part of the 2025 Democracy Day celebrations.

This was announced in a statement issued Wednesday by Abdulhakeem Adeoye, on behalf of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Democracy Day.

Following the morning address, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to speak before a joint session of the National Assembly at 12:00 noon.

The statement also confirmed that there will be no traditional Democracy Day parade this year. Instead, a public lecture will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja. The lecture will explore the theme: “Consolidating on the Gains of Nigeria’s Democracy: Necessity of Enduring Reforms.”
