Dantata’s Burial Postponed in Madinah Over Delayed Body Transfer from UAE

The burial of renowned Nigerian business mogul and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, has been delayed in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, due to the late arrival of his body from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he passed away on Saturday.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, confirmed the development in an interview with the BBC on Monday. He explained that the delay was caused by procedural protocols required for bringing a body into Saudi Arabia.

“There are regulations set by the Saudi government on how to bring a body for burial in the country, so now the paperwork is being filled out between the Saudi government and the family of the deceased,” Idris explained.

He added that funeral preparations had been concluded by the Nigerian embassy in Saudi Arabia in collaboration with Dantata’s family and they are now awaiting the arrival of his remains.

Dantata was scheduled to be buried in the holy city of Madinah in accordance with Islamic rites. Burial proceedings will continue once all necessary documentation is finalized and the body is transported to Saudi Arabia.
