Gunmen Strike Zowrru Amid Peace Talks, 3 Killed, 2 Injured in Bassa Plateau State.

A peace mission turned tragic today as suspected armed assailants launched a deadly attack on Zowrru village in the Teegbe District of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State.
The attack occurred while a fact-finding committee was holding a peace meeting with stakeholders in the area.
According to local sources and community leaders, the gunmen stormed the village in the early hours of the day, killing three Irigwe natives and leaving two others seriously injured.
The victims, all civilians, were reportedly unarmed and caught unaware as they went about their daily activities.
Eyewitnesses described the incident as a “coordinated and deliberate disruption” of the ongoing peace efforts in the region.

“This is not the first time such an attack has happened during peace talks. It’s like they are trying to sabotage every attempt at reconciliation,” said an Irigwe youth leader who asked to remain anonymous for security reasons.
