DSS Arrests Boko Haram, ISWAP Suspects in Osun: Governor Adeleke Applauds Operation
Governor Ademola Adeleke has praised the Department of Security Service (DSS) for apprehending suspected members of Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Ilesa, Osun State.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Saturday, the governor commended the proactive efforts of the DSS operatives in neutralizing the potential threat to the state.
“The intelligence-gathering machinery of the DSS that led to the arrest of the suspected terrorist is a testament to the fact that security agencies in the country are up to the task of securing the populace,” Adeleke stated.
He assured residents of his administration’s continued cooperation with security agencies to protect lives and property, emphasizing that security remains a top priority.

“This is a welcome development and a big relief, not just for us as a government but to the people of the state and Nigeria in general. I commend the security operatives for their alertness and intelligence-driven operation. We have absolute confidence in our security forces to keep protecting us,” the governor said.
“As the Chief Security Officer of Osun State, I will continue to give priority to issues of security of my people. I will continue to support efforts of security agencies to guard against any breakdown of law and order in any part of Osun. We will sustain the good relationship and collaboration that currently exists between our administration and the security agencies in the state,” he added.
Adeleke urged Osun residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to security agencies, reassuring them that Osun would remain peaceful under his leadership.
