Tinubu felicitates El-Rufai at 65

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has felicitated with Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, former Kaduna State Governor, on the occasion of his 65th birthday.

The president In a statement released on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, praised El-Rufai contributions to governance, democracy, and national development.

Tinubu also lauded the celebrants as a dedicated administrator, scholar, and politician whose resourcefulness and brilliance have left a lasting impact on the nation.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu further highlighted El-Rufai’s key roles in Nigeria’s political landscape, including his tenure as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from 2003 to 2007, where he spearheaded major reforms, as well as his leadership as governor of Kaduna State for two terms.

The president also acknowledged El-Rufai’s pivotal role in the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he contributed to the party’s victories in the 2015, 2019, and 2023 elections.

Part of the statement reads: “President Tinubu celebrates Mallam El-Rufai on this occasion and commends his endeavours for democracy; his meritorious service to the nation, and mentorship of the younger generation.

“The President acknowledges Mallam El-Rufai’s role in the dialogues leading up to the formation of the APC and his contributions to the success of the party in the three consecutive elections of 2015, 2019, and 2023.

“President Tinubu wishes El-Rufai good health and strength for continuous service to the nation”,
