Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has formally received 100 students of St Mary’s Catholic School, who were rescued after being abducted on November 21, 2025.
The children were handed over to the state government by Wing Commander Abdullahi Idi Hong, representative of the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, during a brief ceremony at the Government House in Minna on Monday.
Speaking during the handover, the NSA’s representative said the Federal Government would continue to strengthen safety measures in communities across the country.
“We will continue to come up with policies to ensure the safety of every Nigerian child,” he said.
Governor Bago described the rescue as a significant moment for Niger State, expressing gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, the NSA and other partners involved in the operation.
