Edwin Clark to Be Buried May 13 in Delta State

The family of late elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, has announced May 13, 2025, as the date for his burial in Kiagbodo Community, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.

Chief Clark, who served as Federal Commissioner for Information and was a senator during Nigeria’s Second Republic, died on February 17 at the age of 97. He was born on May 25, 1927.

His eldest son, Mr. Penaowei Clark, revealed the burial plans during a press briefing held on Saturday at the family’s residence in Kiagbodo.

“Our father, who passed away on Feb 17, 2025, will be laid to rest on May 13, 2025, in his family compound in Kiagbodo,” he said.

“The dates for the funeral were carefully considered and agreed upon in consultation with stakeholders including the government, political associates, religious bodies and socio-cultural organisations.”

Mr. Penaowei was joined at the briefing by family members including Chief Ebikeme Clark, Delta State Commissioner for Riverine Infrastructure Development and other prominent relatives.

According to him, funeral activities will begin on May 7 in Abuja and end with final rites in Kiagbodo on May 13.
