Akwa Ibom Unity Forum Apologizes to University of Uyo Vice Chancellor Over Certificate Forgery Allegations

The Akwa Ibom Unity Forum has tendered an unreserved apology to Professor Nyaudo Ndaeyo, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo. The apology comes after the forum accused Ndaeyo of covering up alleged certificate forgery involving Governor Umo Eno, a former student of the university.
According to Uko Idiong, Director-General of the Forum, the apology became necessary after a thorough review of the facts revealed that their earlier petitions were unfounded and completely false. The forum had previously petitioned the National University Commission (NUC), accusing Ndaeyo of a grand cover-up in the governor’s case.
The forum has also retracted its petition addressed to the NUC, dated May 10, 2023. This move marks a significant shift in the forum’s stance, as they initially alleged that Ndaeyo was involved in a cover-up. With this apology, the forum acknowledges that their claims were baseless and apologizes for any harm caused.
