EFCC Grills Abuja Businesswoman Halimat Tejuosho Over Alleged Federal Appointment, Contract Scam

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has questioned Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, an Abuja-based businesswoman, over allegations linking her to a fraudulent scheme involving fake government appointments and contract deals.

Tejuosho, who is said to be the founder of Haleems Integrated Services Limited, was interrogated following reports from multiple victims who claimed she obtained money from them under false pretenses, promising federal appointments and access to high-value government contracts.

According to Chief Tolu Babaleye, legal counsel to one of the victims, Tejuosho allegedly orchestrated a sophisticated scam using forged documents, including fake appointment letters. He said she posed as an aide to the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, in order to lend credibility to her promises.

“The court had earlier recommended her for prosecution on charges bordering on Advance Fee Fraud, Criminal Diversion of Funds, Criminal Breach of Trust and Cheating,” Babaleye said.

He also alleged that Tejuosho used her involvement in NGO and humanitarian activities as a front to gain trust and lure unsuspecting victims.

EFCC spokesperson Mr. Dele Oyewale confirmed that Tejuosho was invited for questioning and has been granted administrative bail under strict conditions. Investigations are still ongoing and the commission says she may be formally arraigned in court in the coming weeks.

The anti-graft agency has called on other victims to come forward, reiterating its commitment to clamp down on all forms of financial crimes.
