The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the expulsion of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, along with ten other prominent members of his faction. The announcement was made during the party’s ongoing national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to party officials, the members were expelled over alleged anti-party activities and actions said to be undermining the unity and progress of the PDP.
Those expelled include:
1. Nyesom Wike
2. Ayo Fayose
3. Senator Samuel Anyanwu
4. Hon. Umar Bature
5. Adeyemi Ajibade, SAN
6. Mohammed Abdulrahman
7. Senator Mao Ohuabunwa
8. Hon. Austine Nwachukwu
9. Abraham Amah
10. George Turner
11. Chief Dan Orbih
The decision is the latest escalation in the ongoing internal crisis within the PDP, which has been marked by disagreements between the national leadership and members aligned with Wike.
Party leaders said the expulsions were necessary to “restore discipline” and strengthen the party structure ahead of future political engagements.
Reactions from the expelled members or their supporters were not immediately available at the time of filing this report.
