A commercial bus has collided with a truck in the Badagry area of Lagos on Sunday morning, killing 8 people, including the bus driver and conductor.
FCNN gathered that the accident occurred at Atura Bus Stop inward Badagry before dawn, involving a 16-seater Mazda bus and a DAF truck.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the fatalities, stating that the bus driver lost control while driving at a high speed, leading to the catastrophic collision.
According eyewitnesses, 8 surviving passengers were rescued with varying degrees of trauma and were evacuated to the General Hospital in Badagry for medical attention.
The General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, visited the scene, extended condolences to the bereaved families, and urged road users to exercise caution and adhere to safety protocols.
