
The Nigerian military, under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), has successfully neutralized a notorious Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) terrorist commander, Malam Jidda, and dozens of his fighters in Yobe and Borno states.
The operation, which involved coordinated air and ground efforts, took place in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State and the Timbuktu Triangle in Borno State.
FCNN gathered that the operation was initiated on June 9 in the Ngazalgana area of Gujba council, with close air support from the Air Component of OPHK.
Malam Jidda, identified as the Ameer of Ngorgore and Malumti villages, was killed during a fierce engagement with troops. The troops’ superior firepower overpowered the terrorists.
However some terrorists escaped with gunshot wounds, while others were neutralized in a follow-up operation in the Timbuktu Triangle, where troops conducted a snap ambush.
In the Mallamfatori general area of Abadam Local Government Area, troops discovered bodies of neutralized terrorists and recovered a significant array of arms and equipment, including:AK-47 rifles,motorcycles,rocket-propelled gun tubes,magazines,large quantities of ammunition,hand grenades,hand-held radios and other logistical items.

The army spokesman, Capt. Reuben Kovangiya, emphasized that the renewed offensive demonstrates the effectiveness of the ongoing counter-insurgency efforts by Operation Hadin Kai, supported by precise and timely air strikes.
He reaffirmed the Theatre Command’s commitment to completely defeating Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents and restoring peace to the affected regions.
