#EndBadGovernance: Falana Urges Nigerian Bar Association To Act On Child Rights Violations Amid Abuses By Police, Others

Prominent Nigerian human rights lawyer Femi Falana has called on the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to take decisive action against the increasing cases of child rights violations in the country. Speaking at a recent forum under the banner “EndBadGovernance,” Falana highlighted the disturbing abuses faced by children, particularly at the hands of law enforcement agencies, including the Nigerian Police.

Falana criticized the systemic neglect of child rights by various government institutions and emphasized the urgency of addressing these violations, which he argued have a profound impact on the future of Nigerian society. He pointed out that the protection of children’s rights is not just a legal obligation but a moral one that requires urgent attention from all stakeholders, especially those in the legal profession.
